About us
The Print Room offers a range of services to members of the Department and staff of other University departments.
Opening hours: Monday-Thursday 09:30 – 15:30
The Print Room can be found at the far end of the DPO, which is located on the 1st floor of the Baker Building.

Covid-19 Guidelines
In order to keep customers and staff safe during the current global health crisis we have made a number of changes to processes in the Print Room.
Physical access to the Print Room should only be for collecting completed print jobs, or where special permission has been granted.
Please pay careful attention to any signage.
Print Room services
- Please submit your job online using the Print Room Ordering System (PROOM).
- If your attachments are too large for the system please include links to OneDrive/Dropbox/Google Drive
- If you wish to discuss what services are available, discuss complex requirements for a job or have a job where it will be necessary to pass printed materials to Print Room staff, please telephone us on 01223 332710, or contact us by e-mail at print-room@eng.cam.ac.uk
- Jobs on USB stick will not be accepted

- Printed materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 24 hours to ensure your safety when collecting them
- You will be instructed of your earliest collection day via e-mail upon completion of the work and it will be left on a labelled shelf in the Print Room
- If a job is urgent and quarantine is unsuitable then we may be able to take extra precautions to allow for same day pickup, please request this when submitting the job and you will be contacted if it is suitable
- Printed materials will be quarantined for a minimum of 24 hours to ensure your safety when collecting them
- Any jobs for non-Engineering staff will be delivered by UMS, collection from Engineering is not possible.
- When coming to collect jobs, please wear a face covering, use the hand sanitizer provided and ring the door bell for attention
- Please wait to be in invited to come down the stairs by Print Room staff
- Please do not attempt to cross any areas that are protected by barriers unless otherwise instructed.
- The only area accessible to non-Print Room staff will be the counter (for payment) and the collection point on the shelves at the bottom of the stairs
- Payment must be by job number, grant number or credit/debit card. Cash will not be accepted
Xerox Printers
Toner collection
- If the local Xerox printer in your area has run out of toner and is requesting a replacement please e-mail print-support@eng.cam.ac.uk
- Print Room staff will attend to replace the toner
- Please include the location of the printer as well as which toner(s) or consumables need replacing
- Please only contact us when the toner is empty, we do not need to be made aware of ‘low’ toner warnings as the devices order their own
Paper collection
- If the local Xerox printer in your area has run out of paper please go to Stores to collect more
- Please do not take more paper than is required
Fault Reporting
- If the local Xerox printer in your area has an error message or a fault please e-mail print-support@eng.cam.ac.uk
- Please include full details about the problem including photos of any on-screen errors or print quality issues
- Please include the location of the printer
