There seem to be two (possibly) related issues that I know of so far and to which I’ve not found a satisfactory solution on the interweb.
The first is that a centos 6 guest seems to hang rarely when being migrated from 7 host to 7 host.
testcentos-vm was installed initially as a Centos 6 guest on a centos 6 host, but I’ve tried cloning the disc and creating direct on 7, and causing every other part of the xml definition of this and testcentos7-vm to be the same apart from MAC and name) and it still hangs. testcentos7-vm has never hung.
The second is that it seems that guests created on 6 as arch type of ‘6.6.0’ cannot be moved to the 7 host as that’s an unsupported arch. The error seems fairly clear on this:
Unable to migrate guest: internal error: process exited while connecting to monitor: Supported machines are:

Hopefully a future patch will fix this.
As an aside it’s not possible to migrate hosts back from a 7 kvm host to a 6 kvm host because the former adds a pci device which the latter doesn’t like. This seems to be a feature (though an annoying one) but one we can work around by not trying to do that.
